Union square<\/strong><\/p>\n

The heart of Cluj-Napoca is Unirii Square – the zero kilometer. It is one of the oldest medieval squares from the central and eastern European cities, with (neo) Renaissance, Baroque and eclectic palaces. In the middle of the square there is St. Michael’s Gothic church and statue group Matei Corvin. It is the locals favorite spot for spending time with friends in a bohemian atmosphere, wonderful moments at the numerous terraces, pastry shops, bars.<\/p>\n

Botanical Garden<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “Alexandru Borza” Botanical Garden in Cluj-Napoca, opened to the public in 1925, is considered to be one of the largest and most beautiful gardens in Southeastern Europe. It stretches over a 14-acre area, and houses an impressive and spectacular collection of plants (11,000 species) brought in from all continents. The Botanical Garden is visited annually by about 150,000 people.<\/p>\n

National Theater – Romanian Opera \/ Orthodox Cathedral<\/strong><\/p>\n

The National Theater in Cluj-Napoca is one of the most valuable architectural monuments of the city. It was erected in the years 1904-1906 on the site of the former wood market of the city, in the current Piata Avram Iancu. Across the street from the Theater you will find the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, the third largest in Romania, built in 1920 in the Neo-Soviet style.<\/p>\n

Cluj Arena<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a capacity of over 30,000 seats, the Arena (UEFA Elite Stadium) was built in 2011 right next to Central Park. For example, last year at Untold Festival, just on the 1st<\/sup> day 70,000 people were in attendance!<\/p>\n

Turda Salt Mine<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most visited place in Romania (last year more than 600,000 tourists), Salina Turda is one of the oldest and largest salt mines, exploited during the Romans. Also, called “Paradise under the Earth” has been renovated between 2008-2010, offering tourists a spectacular recreational space with a fun park and SPA center. According to www.businessinsider.com<\/a>, Salina Turda is number 22 in the top of the most spectacular tourist attractions in the world!<\/p>\n

With over 100 floral species, some extremely rare, and over 67 bird species of national interest, you will fall in love with the wild beauty of the places, with gentle hills or steep cliffs, with the Hasdate brook and mysterious caves. If you are an outdoor activities fan, you can also practice extreme sports: free climbing, deltaplaning, race croce running or bike racing!<\/p>\n
